Once you hold your licence, you can add a range of endorsements and ratings, including a multi-engine aeroplane class rating, an instrument rating, a MPPC endorsement, or a retractable undercarriage endorsement.
A multi-engine aeroplane class rating can be completed as a standalone course, or as an introduction to and in conjunction with an instrument rating course.
Pop up through the clouds and conduct instrument approaches at your destination. An instrument rating allows you to pilot an aircraft in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) with reference to the aircraft’s instruments.
Most aircraft apart from basic trainers will have a constant speed unit (CSU), requiring you to get a manual propeller pitch control endorsement. CSUs are also present in more complex aircraft types, opening up your aircraft hire options. An MPPC endorsement can be completed in a day.
TVSA’s flight instructor rating gives commercial pilots the ability to work as flight instructors throughout Australia. Becoming a flight instructor can be a great way to build flight experience and develop a highly rewarding career.
When you are ready to progress to more complex aircraft, undertake the retractable undercarriage endorsement. This will open up your aircraft hiring options and also contribute to your CPL(A) skill set.
