Students must also undertake a pre-training review to ensure course suitability. The pre-training review involves:
– an interview
– an online assessment of competence in reading and numeracy using bksb® (you must achieve a minimum result of AQF Exit Level 3 for both assessments)
– a flight simulator test to determine aptitude for flying (you must achieve a minimum score of 11).

To enter this course, you must hold a Commercial Pilot Licence or a AVI50219 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence - Aeroplane).
A minimum of a CASA Class 2 medical certificate is required for the issuance of an instructor rating.
