– an interview
– an online assessment of competence in reading and numeracy using bksb® (you must achieve a minimum result of AQF Exit Level 3 for both assessments)
– a flight simulator test to determine aptitude for flying (you must achieve a minimum score of 11).
The pre-training review will be conducted in person to ensure the integrity of the process.
Students will be accepted into the course while they are still applying for their Class 1 medical certificate. If, for whatever reason, a student is unable to obtain their medical certificate, they will not be able to continue with the course. Students who choose to enrol without a completed medical certificate do so at their own discretion/risk.
An aviation reference number (ARN) is similar to an account or customer number – you need this to apply for your medical certificate and complete flight training.
This medical certificate involves undertaking a number of medical tests to assess your physical ability to hold a commercial pilot licence. Tests include an eye exam, an ECG, and a blood test. A Class 1 medical certificate must be renewed each year.
TVSA has a number of financing options available. To ensure you are eligible, read through all the information and use the tools provided to check your eligibility.
This course is approved for VET Student Loans tuition support. Speak to our aviation careers specialist to learn more.
